WORKSHOP

Let's Talk Seminar Series

‘Let’s Talk’ is a straight-talking peer-facilitated conversation amongst parents of the challenges confronted by children and teens in the modern world.

It’s a safe space to share and engage in effective and meaningful conversations around these important topics where no one is right, and everyone is encouraged to share their diverse perspective.

'Let's Talk' aims to provide a friendly and open platform for parents to master ways to engage in crucial conversations with their teenagers. It offers valuable resources and equips parents with the right questions to initiate and navigate important discussions.

'Let's Talk' encourages parents to address various topics relevant to teenagers, such as mental health, relationships, academic stress, substance abuse, and personal values. By providing parents with the necessary tools and knowledge, the seminar empowers them to effectively communicate with their teenagers, fostering stronger parent-child relationships and supporting the overall growth and resilience of the teenagers.

Topics explored range from all facets of your child’s life and include, but are not limited to:

  • Bullying

  • Cyberworld – bullying and dangers

  • Discussing Sexual Orientation

  • Drugs, Alcohol, and Smoking

  • Having Sex

  • Managing Lies

  • School Avoidance

  • Strange Thoughts, Suicide, and Self Harm

The ‘Let’s Talk’ seminar series acknowledges the significance of open dialogue between parents and teenagers, recognizing that these conversations can have a profound impact on their well-being and development. It emphasizes the importance of creating a safe and non-judgmental environment, where both parents and teenagers feel comfortable expressing their thoughts, concerns, and experiences.

These conversations can be challenging, but they can also be incredibly rewarding. Through shared wisdom and some research-driven data - brought to the table by our qualified facilitators - we work together and share ideas and experiences, to help better empower us as parents and careers to support your children and teens in navigating the complex issues they may face in today's world.
